Here's a whole bunch of articles that should be of interest to players & parents involved in our program.  We strongly encourage everyone to be familiar with the material - not only for your own benefit but everyone else's as well. Because there are so many items the list has been divided into several categories and each has been given its own webpage. Please fell free to browse through each section - especially if you're volunteering to help coach and have a child on your team!

Click on the section's heading to access appropriate articles - lots here to help you!

Players

Arriving in plenty of time to participate in the warm-ups is a good starting point.  Having the right glove and attitude is also important - especially when you remember to bring them & sunscreen and plenty of water.  Want some help on developing your playing skills?  Dealing with other players, coaches & officials?   Lots here to go over.

Parents

Being involved with your child can be very rewarding or, if things don't "go right", can be really frustrating. This set of articles is provided to help you make this a rewarding experience for not only you but also your child and all the other participants. Hopefully you'll find the information useful and use it to advantage.  Everyone should be "part of the team".

Coaches & Assistants

There are a lot of articles including complete practice plans, drills, etc to help those new to coaching as well as the experienced who wish to improve their coaching skills. Please take some time to go over articles of interest and use the information to ensure that each player develops his/her skills while having fun.  Want to progress and continue contributing to your child's development?

Volunteers

While it's great that you have a youngster (or two) interested in playing, you must be aware that most minor sport organizations depend on substantial help from volunteers - and the Stanley Park leagues are no exception.  Stanley Park Blastball, T-Ball & 3-Pitch leagues are organized and run entirely by volunteers.

Umpires, Officials & Supervisors

In addition to enforcing the rules of the game, the umpire's job is to keep the game moving and ensure all the players from both teams enjoy the experience. Umpires, officials & supervisors need to be able to handle all game situations and deal not only with the coaches & players but also, on occasion, spectators and hecklers.

Sportsmanship

We have "sportsmanship managers" to help administer our sportsmanship policies. These officials intervene as necessary to ensure good sportsmanship prevails. But everyone needs to be part of the program - good behaviour is expected! We enforce our 'zero tolerance for abuse’ policy to ensure that all participants enjoy all the games and practices. We're all here to "have fun" - but not at anyone else's expense.

If you come across any other articles which you feel should be included in our listing please forward them.
