Divisions

Blastball

Co-ed introduction to team sports and baseball for children born in 2013, 2014 and early (pre May 31 suggested) 2015. Play is with a sponge bat and ball so no gloves nor helmets are required. No scores are kept - kids play just for fun, make friends and learn about the game and teamwork. Teams are small - we play 5 per side - so there's lots of hitting and no sitting. Lots of scheduling options regarding playing days.

Junior T-Ball

Co-ed introductory T-Ball league for children born in 2011, 2012 and "experienced" 2013s. No scores kept and no sit-outs. Most games are played on the "mini-diamonds" at Franklin or Midland Park. The emphasis on having fun while developing skills and learning the game. Play is with a soft-core ball. A basic baseball glove is recommended but all else is supplied including batting helmets (on a shared basis) -we also have some "loaner" gloves for those in need of such. Lots of scheduling options when registering so no need to miss many games or practices.

Senior T-Ball

Co-ed teams for children born in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Play is with a soft-core ball and includes a wrap-up tournament at the end of the season so it's more competitive than Junior T-Ball but the emphasis is still on having fun while learning the game. We enforce mandatory player rotation through all fielding positions so everyone gets a fair chance. Use of face protection (provided) is mandatory for all players when playing an infield position. You can indicate a day to avoid having games on - at least until the semi-finals.

Junior 3 Pitch

Co-ed league which involves hitting a "pitched ball" for children born in 2007, 2008 and 2009. An adult pitches to his/her own team so there are lots of hits, lots of base-runners and lots of fielding plays to be made. We enforce mandatory rotation of all players through all fielding positions. All infielders must wear face protection (equipment provided.) Games are 5 innings played under modified softball rules using a standard 11" softball. The season ends with a wrap-up tournament but the emphasis is still on having fun while learning the game. You can indicate a day to avoid having games on - at least until the semi-finals.

Senior 3 Pitch

Co-ed league for youth born in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. A responsible person - adult or pre-qualified player - pitches to his/her own team so there are lots of hits, lots of base-runners and lots of fielding plays to be made. We enforce mandatory rotation of all players through all fielding positions. All infielders must wear face protection - equipment supplied.) Games,7 innings, are played under modified softball rules using a standard 11" softball. The season ends with a wrap-up tournament but the emphasis is still on having fun while learning the game. Option for teams to tabulate player stats. You can indicate a day to avoid having games on - at least until the semi-finals.

Optimist Events

The Optimist Club of Stanley Park hosts and/or runs numerous special events and projects in the community. These include the Grand River Bass Derby, an annual bike rodeo, the annual Hot Dog Day T-Ball Party, etc. We also sponsor a spelling bee, oratory contest, several scholarships as well as contributing to the needs of the youth of our community.
